  Small detail making me question the dubness of the principals of this business. One of their pics shows a KH type room with a cross at the front. School boy error for JWs. Edit, have just read their blurb, they don't claim to be dubs so they are just opportunists.

  An old memory...

  when i was newly divorced,still attending meetings, some of the younger married sisters got friendly with me.

  we went out (to bars) after the meeting, we hung out, etc.

  then one “ friend” asked me for a favor.

  i was in full time service for six years including bethel.

  once i got out of bethel, i figured i had already given them six of the best years of my life (ages 18-24) working as a slave/drone in their factory, so i rationalized that i had given them enough... so over the next 27 years i would say maybe $200 bucks is it.

  i think their whole "voluntary contributions" idea is biting them in the ass, because over all jehovah's witnesses are a cheap group people with a few exceptions.

  Not a penny for years however an event upsets me even now years later.

  I sent £500 to help a kid who needed treatment in the US for a life threatening condition. Shortly after I had a letter of thanks saying that the little fella had not made it. So what happened to the money? They sent the money to the ever open gob of the London bethel.

  That was the last thing I wanted.

  I know, that pales into insignicance when compared to others but, i still grudge it.

  Nope Diogenesister, sorry. Amateur? Yes, embarrassing? Absolutely. Excruciating? Even the kids were hiding their faces.

  No, the worst are the regular nauseating propaganda pieces flowing from the JW.Borg studios. At least these people are thanking those that misguidedly gave their time and money to help them.

  At least this was a home made spontaneous effort not like the sickening ORG sponsored efforts at the International Conventions presented as demonstrations of Lurv.

  So, all a load of misguided bollocks but at least they were having a bit of fun. So Steph, I see your point.

  the latest item of the italian language blog proclamatore consapevole details a problem facing jws their bid to move the bethel from rome (which they apparently sold) , into an existent structure in bologna.

  a recently enacted law requires existing buildings in that city to be retrofitted to withstand earthquakes.

  the problem is that the remedial work is (1) extremely expensive (in many, if not most cases, tearing down the building is cheaper); and (2) the work cannot be done by the usual volunteer labor jws employ on construction projects; it must be contracted to a third-party specialist firm.
